MR. DIEGO GONZALEZ (ROCK & PROG BLOG)

Name: Diego Gonzalez

Country: Argentina

Age: 32

Name (and link if present) of your website/magazine/radio: Rock & Prog Blog -  http://www.rock-and-prog.blogspot.it/

Position in your website/magazine/radio: The creator

Online since (year when your website went online): June 2008

Introduce you as editor and your website/radio with a little bio (year and how you started to write reviews, possible previous versions and/or name of the website, more you want do add):  My name is Diego Gonzalez and  almost 5 years ago believed this site to spread the music I love, along with my partner Pablo Bevacqua. We show that from a blog we can do a lot, reviews of concerts, albums and interview a lot of our heroes. We are fans of melodic rock/prog music and if we from an Argentine blog we can help keep it alive, our goal is fulfilled!

Favorite rock sytles (AOR, Melodic Rock, Hard-Rock, Westcoast, Glam, Sleaze or so on): AOR / melodic rock / Progressive rock

Other music styles you like: All the good music

"THE" band / artist that fully embrace your tastes in music: it is difficult to choose one.... maybe Kansas because it covers many styles (Progressive rock, Pomp rock and AOR music)

Your personal TOP 5 of all times:
ROCK (Aor – melodic rock – Pomp Rock): Styx “The Grand Illusion” / Journey “Escape” / Survivor “Vital Signs” / Magnum “On A Storyteller’s Night” / Queen “II”
Prog (rock & metal): Kansas “Leftoverture” / Rush “Permanent Waves” / Yes “Close To The Edge” / Genesis “The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway”/ Dream Theater “Images & Words”

Your personal FLOP 5 of all times:
Rock: Queen “Hot Space” / Strangeways “Perfect World” / Hartmann “3” / Def Leppard “Slang” / Night Ranger “Seven”
Prog: Queensryche “Dedicated To Chaos” / Genesis “Abacab” / Yes “Open Your Eyes” / EL & P “In The Hot Sea” /   Eldritch “Reverse”

Your biggest delusion in music (a crap album, a missed interview, a bad concert you've attended, etc):  The interview with Dave Dalone of Heat, a boy with little desire to answer the interview ..

Your highest point reached in music (a long awaited interview, a meeting with one of your idols, results reached with your webiste, etc):  The interviews with Rick Williams, Steve Hacket, John Wetton, Jim Gilmour , i'm a huge fan of Kansas, Saga, Genesis etc... A dream comes true!

Your most successful / favorite review/interview:  Rich Willians (Kansas) and Phil Bates (Atlantic)

Your bitter regret about one of your reviews / interviews: Some interviews that were sent and never answered.

Your 5 most promising acts / artists of the "new" generation:  Jono, State of Salazar, Guru, The Rockford The Heroes, Indicco

Your vision for the next years about the music biz of our music styles (possible death of the cd format, thoughts about digital releases, evolution of rock labels, etc.):  There is public for all, of course the download is something that cannot be controlled and affects to all the bands. The independent bands used the free downloads and it's ok, it's too hard reach a label. The business goes through official downloads via itunes, etc...

Your personal suggestions for today's labels and artists:  Pay attention to bands of Argentina like Lady Macbeth, Jinetes Negros, Atempo or Flamedown!

Anything you want to add: Thank you for this opportunity Zorro!
